About the Festival

Who we are and what we do

QMFE was born from the urgent need to bring lgbtq+ stories to the community. As creators and lgbtq+ people, we felt the need to be represented, to hear queer stories we could identify with, but we didn’t want that just for ourselves—we wanted to offer that space to the whole community. That strong desire to belong and to be embraced gave birth to QMFE, a cultural outreach project and an event that promotes today’s queer music.

We have created a safe, fraternal space for emerging queer artists in the city of Barcelona.

It is aimed at a young audience: those young adults who go out at night to discover the local scene, who feel at home in a space of openness and freedom, without limiting labels. QMFE opens its doors to everyone. At the same time, it seeks an audience that loves urban music, electronic and fusion. We are building a channel for live music with a strong queer imprint for all.

Our team is young, strong, Latin Catalan, steadfast and rooted in this city. We’re here to stay.
